Making Friends at University

Summary of topic: trust the process!

With COVID, there really were not that many people who ended up coming to uni so I didn't meet many. I started uni in January and it took me until the beginning of March to actually start to make uni friends. I started speaking to  an Irish and English girl (can you believe it - a Scot, English and Irish trio in Lyon!) We got chatting after class and ended up exchanging details and meeting up often. It was such a comfort relating to each other and knowing we'd experienced similar things here.

Socialising Idea

Have a French cheese tasting night! I bought three different types of cheeses. They really aren't that expensive. I bought a baguette as well to go with it. The girls brought the drinks. It was good to break the ice a bit with some drinks and also talk about the cheese (as if I knew anything...).

Here is a picture of what I did. I presented it better but forgot to take a picture until halfway...

Disclaimer: I was only at university part time taking one class as part of my scholarship agreement. I didn't get to meet as many people as a result of this, so it might be a completely different experience for you!
